You've now doubt heard or read the constant news out of Mexico.
The battles amongst others has ruined the lives of so many, certainly those who depend on tourists to make a living.
All along the U.S.-Mexico border, businesses that have always depended on the American tourist to survive are finding that Americans just aren't willing to cross the Rio Grande for fear something will happen.
It used to be you could stroll through a mercado, shop for trinkets to send to friends or visit a restaurant that has been around for decades.
Not anymore.
Nowadays a visit to Mexico means virtually no tourists. The sidewalks once filled with so many "Americanos" you bumped shoulders and shopping bags to get by are now virtually empty.
Today enter a once popular store in a border town and you may find that you're the only customer!
The violence in Mexico has taken not only lives, but the livelihood of so many who suported themselves with the money so many of us spent in their country.
